Carl Hester has been named as part of the Team GB for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy, France which takes place on 23 Aug - 7 Sept, with the dressage competition on the 25 - 29 Aug in Caen.

British Dressage announced the strong squad yesterday (in alphabetical order):

  • Charlotte Dujardin OBE - with Mrs Roly Luard and Carl Hester's Valegro
  • Michael Eilberg - with Mr Jon and Mrs Julie Deverill's Half Moon Delphi
  • Carl Hester MBE - with Mrs Jane De La Mare and his own Nip Tuck
  • Gareth Hughes - with Mrs Jane Brewin's DV Stenkjers Nadonna

Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro will have their chance to complete their hat-trick of gold medals. “To be taking part in my first World Equestrian Games is really exciting; I’m really looking forward to it. Representing my country is always a great honour and I hope we can give our fans and supporters the results to make them proud.'' says Charlotte.

Charlotte's trainer and mentor, Carl Hester, will be supporting Charlotte throughout the competition. Carl will be riding his up and coming Grand Prix star Nip Tuck with Mr and Mrs Aram Gregory's Dances with Wolves as a direct reserve. “What a great opportunity – I’m certainly looking forward to the chance of bringing home medals for Britain. I’m lucky to have three horses qualified and the three owners have been so supportive of the horses. I know that if we can all post our best results on the day, we’re in with a great shot of a medal.” says Carl
